BATTERY STORAGE IN PĀPĀMOA

Store the Sun
in Pāpāmoa

Pāpāmoa has grown faster than almost anywhere else in the Bay, and it shows on the rooftops. Much of the housing here is recent, which usually means simple roof planes and modern switchboards, and fewer of the complications that come with older stock.

A home battery lets Pāpāmoa households store their daytime solar generation and use it in the evening peak, swapping a low buy-back rate for a high avoided-purchase price on every stored kilowatt-hour. With backup capability, it also keeps your essentials running through an outage. We install premium Energizer and Sigenergy batteries backed by 10-year warranties.

WHY ADD A BATTERY IN PĀPĀMOA?

  • A long, north-facing stretch of coast puts Pāpāmoa roofs close to the ideal orientation for solar in New Zealand.
  • Newer subdivisions tend to have large, uncluttered roof planes, which makes it easier to fit a system that actually covers your usage.
  • Family households here run a high evening peak, which is exactly the load a battery is there to cover.

Every EFS Solar installation is carried out by licensed electrical workers, uses Tier 1 panels and inverters, and is backed by warranties of up to 30 years, with $0 upfront options available. We're proudly New Zealand-owned and install right across the North Island.

Battery Storage in Pāpāmoa, Common Questions

What does a home battery actually do?

It stores your surplus daytime solar generation so you can use it in the evening instead of exporting it. You swap a low buy-back price for a high avoided-purchase price on every stored kilowatt-hour, and with backup capability, a battery keeps your essentials running through an outage.

What size battery do I need?

Common home batteries store roughly 10–16kWh, which carries a typical household’s evening and overnight use. The right size depends on your solar generation and what you want backed up. We size storage from your actual usage data.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?

Usually, yes. We install batteries with new systems and retrofit them to existing ones. We confirm compatibility with your inverter during the assessment and recommend the right configuration.

Does a battery let me install more panels?

Yes. On single-phase power a 10kW inverter is normally capped at 13.3kW of panels (33% oversizing), but with a battery the allowance grows to as much as 200%, up to around 20kW, because the surplus generation has somewhere useful to go.

What batteries do you install?

We install premium battery systems from Energizer and Sigenergy, matched to your inverter and backed by 10-year warranties, with all electrical work carried out by licensed electrical workers.
